Senior Digital Matte Painter
Digital Matte Artists have the ability to create photo-real environments and landscapes exhibiting a strong foundation in photo-realistic traditional and digital art skills with an emphasis on landscapes. Performs tasks related to integrating added imagery into a shots, preserving a unified sense of lighting, perspective, and color. Also responsible for creating original 2D and 3D content that may comprise part or all of an environment.
• Combines painting skills in animation software, with a knowledge of photography, practical and digital modeling, and design, to create 2D and 3D paintings for digital environments.
• Works closely with the Lead Digital Matte Painter and Supervisors to ensure that plates meet planned concept design requirements.
• Work with ILM production teams to establish appropriate methods and accurate estimates on shot production.
• Complete work within the bid timeframe, while maintaining constant communication with production teams and other CG artists.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in art, industrial design, theatrical design or painting preferred.
• 8+ years of related production experience with at least 5 years of feature film experience.
• Demo reel and/or portfolio required
• A proficiency in Adobe Photoshop is required.
• Strong knowledge of camera focal lengths, good sense of composition and an understanding of different out-put requirements. Requires knowledge of 2D and 3D animation, software, and motion.
• Strong knowledge and ability in perspective, value matching 35 mm photography, flatbed scanning, and motion.
• Knowledge of 3D modeling and rendering programs.
• Understanding of 2D compositing software.
Senior FX Technical Director
FX Technical Directors are responsible for generating FX animation, procedural simulation, dynamic simulation, particle and fluid systems for feature film visual effects. Responsibilities also include the lighting, rendering and basic compositing of those FX elements.
• Designs and creates FX animation, procedural simulation, dynamic simulation, particle and fluid systems.
• Lights and renders FX elements and creates basic composite to demonstrate the usability of the elements.
• Advanced simulation experience with either Houdini, Maya, XSI, 3DS Max or other software, and ability to write expressions or authoring of shaders are required.
• Linux and scripting ability in Python preferred, and experience in MEL highly desired; C++ skills also applicable.
• Responsible for mentoring other digital artists in FX simulation work.
Requirements:
• Demo reel demonstrating artistic and technical ability is required for this role.

Senior Lighting Technical Director
Senior Lighting Technical Directors (TD) work with direction from the CG Supervisors and Digital Artist Supervisors to create the look of computer generated objects and scenes. They are responsible for lighting, shading, rendering, and some compositing.
• Work with competency, energy and enthusiasm within a team environment with daily supervision to complete a shot.
• Demonstrates good listening and communication skills by openly receiving direction and criticism by asking good questions to confirm clear understanding of the directions and how to approach what needs to be done. Once clear, implements the requested changes immediately and raises flags right away if a solution is not quickly found or if there are any delays, making sure the Supervisors and Production are kept in the loop and are up-to-date on the status of one’s shot work.
• Demonstrates basic presentation/communication skills in dailies/shot review by clearly and briefly outlining what has been accomplished and what next should be addressed in the shot.
• Demonstrates the development of an eye toward anticipating potential problems and knowing what could look better in one’s shot.
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize tasks managing time well, providing everyone with accurate time estimates on shot task completion

Production Manager
Responsible for managing the schedules of the digital artist groups. Works closely with Producers and Executives in Charge of Production for Pre-production and Shot Production to schedule appropriate personnel to ensure timely and efficient completion of productions.
Production Management
• Interact with producers and Talent Management on day-to-day crew needs. Coordinate changes with Management and Producers and inform personnel of changes when necessary.
• Responsible for the timely completion of tasks.
• Maintain regular status meetings with Shows.
• Maintain schedules for Digital Artists within scope of the role. Create and maintain scheduling overviews and availability schedules upon request.
• Work with Production, Training and Talent Management to develop training plans for upcoming show needs and ongoing departmental talent development.
• Evaluate and learn individual artist strengths; help develop cross utilization of resources.
• Provide expertise for efficient talent distribution across company/shows.
• Manage overhead labor for Digital Talent groups within overall Fiscal Plan.
• Forecast current and future personnel needs based on input from Portfolio Group and Production. This includes maintaining contact with producers regarding overall crew size requirements, crew start and end dates and show start/delivery dates as well as incorporating bidding data into facility projections. Flag potential problems in regards to any of those.
• Participate in the scheduling and completion of Show Performance Reviews, contributes to the reviews if appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with Human Resources to define and communicate ongoing recruitment requirements.
• Supervise submission and review of timecards on a weekly basis.
• Facilitate the approval process for vacation requests which includes interacting and coordinating with employees, producers and management to avoid impacting production schedules.
• Track information (and/or support the tracking of information) using ILM’s standard Production Tracking System in a manner exemplifying facility-wide best practices.
